I started making a mini-RC hovercraft as a fun side project which ended up being used as a display project by Massey University. The body of the hovercraft is made from cardboard and hot glue to keep the weight down. I custom designed the PCB specifically for this project using Altium. The PCB uses an ESP32 as its main processor and for communications. There is a buck-boost voltage regulator on board, as well as motor drivers, an RGB LED, and a 9-axis IMU. The hovercraft is controlled from a phone app written using JavaScript and Cordova.
